This is a disgrace. This “procedure” was actually meant for and used to help children with Legg calve perthes disease (very long and drawn out, but basically gives them a better chance of not needing a hip replacement later) and even in that situaltion, could not bear to put my son through this horrifying and yes, dangerous procedure. But I did think long and hard about it as I would give him any chance to get better. Guess what though? Not available here in the states, only one doctor would perform it and not covered my insurance. Yet people are opting to have this done? and its available to them? wow, unreal world where cosmetically something is available when medically needed its not.
